Have your say on London’s energy future with London’s energy decision-makers
The GLA double-booked the Deputy Mayor, Shirley Rodrigues, so here’s the new plan…
–> Shirley Rodrigues, Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy, will be contributing via Skype, introducing the GLA’s plans for London’s energy future.
–> Senior members of the GLA’s energy policy team will be attending in person to present their plans and take questions.
Want affordable, clean energy from a company that gives you a real say about how it’s run? Energy for people, not for profit?
Well so do we.
Campaigning together ahead of the London Mayoral election earlier this year, Switched On London won a commitment from Sadiq Khan to set up a publicly run energy company for London.
But so far we’ve not heard much about the progress.
Working together with residents of the Myatts Field North estate in Lambeth — who have been fighting an expensive privatised energy deal for years — we’re hosting a public meeting with the GLA’s energy team including Shirley Rodrigues, London’s new Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy. We’re pushing hard for Sadiq himself to be there too.
We want to hear more about their plans. And we want to tell them what we want from a London public energy company, to hold decision-makers to account.
This is a really crucial opportunity to make sure we get the affordable, clean and democratic energy company we need.
Please come to make your voice heard.
